Amy Burk-Fredericks began playing the viola in the fifth grade by restringing a violin with viola strings. She has studied with Osman Kivrak and Julia Barker, and participated in master classes with Zoltan Szabo. Graduating from The American University, Ms. Fredericks was awarded a full music performance scholarship for four years while she earned degrees in International Services and Music Performance.
Ms. Fredericks has performed with a number of regional symphonies including Roanoke Symphony and the New England String Orchestra, and is one of the founders of the Pan-American Symphony Orchestra. Musical career highlights include playing for Dutch Royalty in Holland and performing at Carnegie Hall.
Ms. Fredericks currently plays with the Loudoun Quartet and the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, and runs a private studio out of her home. She and her husband are raising their three children in Loudoun County, Virginia.
